Information we use
We may use your name, work contact details, employer and role, the contents of your enquiry or correspondence, project requirements, appointment details, service records and the minimum technical records needed to keep the website and email service secure.
We receive information from you, your organisation, public company websites and official corporate registers. Our launch outreach is limited to relevant UK corporate businesses; we do not buy personal marketing lists or use advertising trackers.
Why we use it
Enquiries and pilots
To answer questions, assess fit, prepare a proposal and take steps requested before a contract. Where a contract exists, we use the information to deliver and administer it.
Relevant B2B contact
To introduce a relevant service to corporate businesses and manage replies. We rely on our legitimate interest in developing the business, balanced against the contact’s rights. Every marketing objection is honoured.
Operations and security
To maintain records, prevent misuse, diagnose incidents and protect our systems and customers. We rely on legitimate interests and applicable legal obligations.
No autonomous decisions
We do not use this information to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Sharing and locations
We use service providers for business email, website hosting, security and professional advice. Current core providers include Zoho Mail in its Europe data centre and OpenAI Sites for this website; Cloudflare provides domain and DNS services. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect legal rights.
The controller is based in China, so business correspondence can be accessed and handled there. We minimise what we collect and will document any transfer safeguards required for customer production data before that data is accepted.
How long we keep it
- Unsuccessful enquiries: normally up to 12 months after the last meaningful contact.
- Customer, contract and delivery records: for the contract period and normally six years afterwards, unless a different legal period applies.
- Marketing objections: the minimum suppression record is retained so that we do not contact you again.
- Security records: only for as long as reasonably needed to investigate and prevent incidents.
Your choices and rights
You can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability where applicable, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can object to direct marketing at any time by replying to the message or emailing privacy@followlane.com. We will stop that marketing.
You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office if UK data-protection law applies to the processing. We would appreciate the chance to address the concern first.
